Monday Musing: GETTING GOD'S EAR

It has often been said that God answers a prayer with "yes", "no", and "wait". But sometimes God doesn't answer at all. Why is that? Isaiah 59:1-2 says, "Behold, the LORD'S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:

But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear."
The Bible tells us that God does not hear the prayers of the unrepentant. He is still God! He is still all powerful. He has not lost His hearing. But if we protect our sin and refuse to repent he CHOOSES not to hear us. The passage also says "your sins have hid his face from you". So in reality our own choices have everything to do with getting our prayers answered. If we feel we can't seem to get God's attention, we need to search our hearts and repent and confess our sins. If we do this God says in 2 Chronicles 7:14 "then will I hear from heaven". God also emphasizes the importance of being right with our fellow man. Jesus deals with this in Matthew 5:23-24 and Mark 11:25. Thank God! When we sin God has made a way for us to get forgiveness and regain His ear. Through His son, Jesus Christ, who died for our sins, (1 Cor. 15:3) we can confess our sins to God and be cleansed from unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9

Blessings!
