I've often heard my pastor/husband say, "Revival is being brought back into use." One source defines revival as "restoration of force, validity, or effect". Look at these daffodils. They have been revived. It is not that they were dead and now live. The life was there all winter long inside the bulbs. They just needed the light and warmth of the Spring Sun.
Some of you know where I'm going with this, don't you? When we are cold and seemingly lifeless, we need the light and warmth of the Son! We get that warmth and light from the Word of God. Psalm 119:130 says, "The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple." In Revelation 22:16 Jesus calls himself the bright and morning star. When we get close to the Son by getting into the Word, we can't help but have revival.
The question is do you have that spiritual life inside! 2 Corinthians 13:5 "Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?" It's simple! "He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life." (1 John 1:12) You can't be (re) vived until you've been made alive the first time by the Holy Ghost of God. Thank God! I was made alive October 27, 1982 and my life has never been the same. Now, I have to get revived from time to time. But God is patient with me and he loves me. The Bible says in several different verses, "The Lord is good!" Indeed He is!
